Squadron Competes in 2015 National Cadet Competition

After earning the right to advance by winning the Great Lakes Region Competition, our squadron competed in the 2015 National Cadet Competition held at Maxwell AFB, AL from 29 December 2015 through 2 January 2016. This was the first year of the new competition format, so it was a new experience to all involved. The cadets competed hard throughout the week and placed 1st in Model Rocketry, 3rd in Physical Fitness, 4th in Inspection, 4th in the Team Leadership Problem, 7th in Outdoor Drill, 7th in the Obstacle Course, 9th in Public Speaking, 10th in Junior Jeopardy, 11th in Indoor Drill, 12th in Regular Jeopardy, and 16th in Written Exam. Overall the team came in 7th Place and earned the Team Spirit Award. Besides our team representing Ohio, the competing teams came from Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Virginia. Our team consisted of C/2d Lt Matthias Lewis (Team Commander), C/SMSgt Allyson Spay, C/TSgt Carissa Hartley, C/TSgt Amanda Vyse, C/SrA Brent Pollard, and C/A1C Jonathan Rice.
