On October 10th, our squadron competed in the 2015 Great Lakes Region Cadet Competition as the representative from Ohio Wing. We are proud to say that out of five teams, we came in First Place Overall! We are even more proud of the hard work each of our cadets on the team put into this and how much they have improved as a result. In all, we won First Place in Inspection, the Cadet Physical Fitness Test, the Team Leadership Problem and second place in Indoor and Outdoor Presentation of the Colors. C/MSgt Spay also had the top female mile time in the competition. Our team will now head to Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama this December to compete in the first-ever National Cadet Competition under the redesigned rules. Joining us will be the team from Grand Rapids Metro Cadet Squadron (MIWG) as the two representative teams from Great Lakes Region. Cadets on the team are C/2d Lt Lewis (Team Commander), C/MSgt Spay, C/SSgt Hartley, C/SSgt Vyse, C/SrA Pollard, and C/Amn Rice. Senior Escorts are Maj Hrinko, Capt Hrinko, and 2d Lt Lewis. Good luck and carry on the legacy of our past teams at the National Cadet Competition!
