Cadets Take to the Sky in a Glider

posted Oct 9, 2012, 6:06 AM by Paul Creed III
On 6 October 2012, some of our cadets got the opportunity to experience the thrill of soaring through our Civil Air Patrol Glider Orientation Flights. After being towed to release altitude, the cadets got to take control of the glider and learn hands on what it is like to fly without an engine. Although the weather was cold, it did not interfere with the good times and peer bonding. Overall it was a very successful day! The cadets participating were C/SMSgt L. Lindauer, C/TSgt Gochneaur, C/SrA Kruppa, C/AB Boyd, C/AB Hutz, C/AB Neff, C/AB O'Kane, and C/AB Pokopatz. Senior member escorts were Maj Hrinko, 1st Lt Hrinko, and SM Kruppa. Special thanks to Ohio Wing Staff Members Maj Moos for flying the cadets and Capt Rowe for flying the tow plane.
